Centre sanctions 14 new day-care cancer centres for Andhra Pradesh
The Union government has sanctioned 14 new day-care cancer centres for Andhra Pradesh, expanding access to treatment closer to patients’ home districts. The centres are intended to provide chemotherapy and related cancer care without requiring every patient to travel to a major tertiary hospital. The approval is part of efforts to strengthen oncology services through district-level facilities and reduce pressure on larger hospitals. State health authorities will now have additional capacity for outpatient and short-stay cancer treatment.
