Kuwait’s Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Sabah said the 1990 Iraqi invasion would remain permanently engraved in the country’s national memory. Marking the 36th anniversary, he paid tribute to martyrs, prisoners and citizens who defended Kuwait’s sovereignty and legitimate leadership. He said the experience proved that national unity, leadership-citizen cohesion and international support were central to restoring independence.
