FIFA president Gianni Infantino said the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise project would not proceed after strong opposition across football. The plan would have combined commercial rights such as broadcasting, sponsorship, ticketing and licensing in a new venture and sold stakes to private investors. UEFA members had threatened a boycott, Concacaf rejected the proposal and a senior adviser resigned. FIFA said it would return to consultation with member associations and confederations.
