Iran war underlines need for Gulf-Europe maritime security cooperation, ISPI says
The conflict involving Iran has highlighted the importance of closer cooperation between Gulf states and Europe on maritime security, according to an assessment by the Italian Institute for International Political Studies, ISPI. The analysis points to risks facing shipping lanes, energy supplies and commercial traffic in and around the Gulf. It argues that coordination on monitoring, naval security and crisis management has become more important as regional tensions affect trade routes linking the Gulf with global markets.
