Kenyan authorities are investigating the unexpected deaths of 15 elephants in the Amboseli ecosystem. Several animals, mostly females and calves, showed partial paralysis before dying, prompting tests for toxins, disease and environmental contamination. Preliminary findings from different laboratories have not yet produced a single confirmed cause, and officials say water, vegetation and tissue samples remain under examination. Authorities have said there is currently no evidence of a threat transmissible to humans.
