Kerala Government Plans to Reconstitute Waqf Board

Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan said the Kerala government would fully reconstitute the Waqf Board to implement the central law requiring the inclusion of two non-Muslim members. CPI(M) leader P. Rajeev disputed the claim that the previous government had agreed to the reconstitution, saying existing vacancies remained unfilled because the issue was pending before the Supreme Court.
