A new decree-law has converted Kuwait Airways into a wholly state-owned shareholding company. All shares will remain with the state, while the Kuwait Investment Authority’s board will exercise the powers of the general assembly. The restructuring is intended to give the national carrier greater flexibility in governance, procurement and staffing, while retaining defined public oversight and repealing the earlier legal framework governing the airline.
