Maharashtra proposes live tracking and fare controls for ambulances
Maharashtra plans a state ambulance policy that would place every registered ambulance on a real-time digital monitoring system. The proposal includes separate apps for citizens, drivers, onboard tablets and authorities; users could find the nearest vehicle, track arrival, see estimated fares and receive preliminary guidance. Maximum fares would be notified by ambulance class, with digital trip records and receipts. The policy was announced as a proposal and had not yet been presented as fully implemented.
