Manchester City have rejected Barcelona’s opening offer for midfielder Rodri, with reports putting the bid at about £38.5 million, or €45 million plus add-ons. City are understood to want a substantially higher fee if the Spain international leaves. At the same time, the Premier League club are progressing talks for Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi as they plan for their squad. Barcelona are expected to consider an improved offer, while negotiations over both midfielders continue.
