The Vice-Chancellor's decision withdrew financial support of Rs 3.75 lakh, while allowing the event to proceed without university funding. The dispute centred on a poster carrying imagery described in the report as a cockroach and a shoe. The order addressed the grant and did not amount to cancellation of the programme itself.
