Survivors of the Mundakkai–Chooralmala disaster protested over an alleged delay in receiving financial assistance. They said the ₹200,000 promised to each affected family under a micro-plan prepared by the previous government had not yet been distributed. Protesters demanded that the pending support be released without further delay.
