OpenAI’s first consumer hardware device is reportedly being developed as a screenless, battery-powered AI smart speaker priced between $300 and $400. The product is being designed with LoveFrom, the firm founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive, and could arrive in 2027. Reports describe a portable, doughnut-like device with sensors and moving components designed for conversational interaction. OpenAI has not formally announced final specifications, pricing or a release date.
