A large overnight Russian missile and drone attack killed nine people in Kyiv and damaged homes and infrastructure across the Ukrainian capital. Rescue workers searched collapsed buildings and treated the injured as air-defence units attempted to intercept the barrage. Ukrainian officials said continuing uncertainty over US military assistance was affecting the country’s ability to protect cities from repeated attacks, especially during large combined strikes.
