Thousands of passengers were stranded after severe congestion brought traffic on the Thamarassery Ghat Road to a halt for more than 10 hours. The jam reportedly began after several heavy vehicles entered the route when daytime restrictions ended, with a multi-axle truck becoming stuck at a hairpin bend. Continuing repairs and a single-lane restriction near the eighth bend further worsened the disruption.
