Union Government Offers Talks with Delhi Student Protest Leaders

The Union government offered to hold discussions with leaders of the student protest in Delhi as public support for the agitation reportedly increased. Protesters rejected a proposal to conduct the meeting at Union Minister J.P. Nadda’s residence. They alleged that inviting representatives to a minister’s private residence rather than holding formal negotiations elsewhere was an attempt to weaken the movement. The protesters continued to demand a meaningful discussion on their concerns.
